Introduction

Hermes is a 24/7 autonomous agent that lives on your computer or server — it remembers what it learns and evolves as your usage grows.

This guide explains the easiest and most robust way to connect your FuseAI account to Hermes. You can do this through either Composio Connect CLI or Composio Connect MCP. For personal use we recommend the CLI, but you won't go wrong with MCP either.

What is Composio Connect?

Composio Connect is a consumer offering that lets anyone plug 1,500+ applications directly into their agent harness — including Hermes. It can:

  • Search and load tools from relevant toolkits on-demand, reducing context usage.
  • Chain multiple tools to accomplish complex workflows via a remote workbench, without excessive back-and-forth with the LLM.
  • Manage app authentication end-to-end with zero manual overhead.

Integrating FuseAI with Hermes

Using Composio Connect CLI

1. Install the Composio CLI

Run the install script directly, or paste https://composio.dev/hermes into your Hermes chat box to have it installed for you.

bash
curl -fsSL https://composio.dev/install | bash
Hermes authenticating with Composio

2. Authenticate

Once the CLI is installed, ask Hermes to authenticate with Composio.

3. Connect to FuseAI

Ask your agent to connect to FuseAI, or simply request any FuseAI-related task. Hermes will prompt you to authenticate and authorize access.

4. Done. You're all set with a new FuseAI connection.

Using Composio Connect MCP

1. Get your MCP URL and API Key

Go to dashboard.composio.dev and copy your Connect MCP URL and API key.

Copy MCP URL and API key from Composio dashboard

2. Open the Hermes config file

bash
nano ~/.hermes/config.yaml

3. Add the Composio Connect MCP server

bash
mcp_servers:
  composio:
    url: "https://connect.composio.dev/mcp"
    headers:
      x-consumer-api-key: "YOUR_COMPOSIO_API_KEY"
    connect_timeout: 60
    timeout: 180

Save with Ctrl + O, Enter, then exit with Ctrl + X.

4. Restart your Hermes agent

Once restarted, ask your agent to connect to FuseAI or request any FuseAI-related task. It will prompt you to authenticate and authorize access.

5. Done!

What is the FuseAI MCP server, and what's possible with it?

The FuseAI MCP server is an implementation of the Model Context Protocol that connects your AI agent and assistants like Claude, Cursor, etc directly to your FuseAI account. It provides structured and secure access to your prospects, campaigns, inboxes, buyer signals, analytics, and research tools, so your agent can find prospects, manage outreach campaigns, handle messages, monitor intent, and conduct research on your behalf.

  • Prospecting and list management: Have your agent search for people and companies, enrich contacts, save prospects to lists, and manage existing prospect lists.
  • Campaign and sequence management: Direct your agent to create, update, duplicate, or delete campaigns, build email and LinkedIn sequences, attach prospect lists, and generate or reorder campaign steps.
  • Email and LinkedIn inbox support: Let the agent read and send messages, draft replies, organize emails with tags, and approve, decline, or skip pending outreach.
  • Signals, website intent, and analytics: Instruct your agent to monitor lead signals, review website visitors and trends, inspect campaign or dialer performance, and surface suggested next actions for contacts.
  • External and relationship research: Have your agent search and scrape the web, run deep research, explore relationship history for engaged contacts and companies, or query your internal knowledge hub.

Way Forward

With FuseAI connected, Hermes can now act on your behalf whenever it detects a relevant task or you ask it to.

From here, you can extend Hermes further:

  • Connect more apps: Calendar, Slack, Notion, Linear, and hundreds of others are available through the same Composio Connect setup. Each new integration compounds what Hermes can do for you.
  • Build workflows across tools: Once multiple apps are connected, Hermes can chain actions together — turn an email into a calendar invite, a Slack message into a Linear ticket, or a meeting note into a follow-up draft.
  • Let it learn your patterns: The more you use Hermes, the better it gets at anticipating how you'd handle recurring tasks. Give it feedback on drafts and decisions, and it will adapt.

TOOLS

Supported Tools

Every FuseAI MCP action and event your agent gets out of the box.

Agents

The Agents / Signals feature: create, list, activate, and pause signal monitors — recurring lead/intent watchers (e.

Analytics

Read-only performance dashboards & metrics: campaign metrics and trends (email / LinkedIn / dialer, with up-or-down deltas), dialer call analytics, prospecting/enrichment volumes, and team performance.

Ask fuse brain

Ask the Fuse Brain — living relationship files for ENGAGED contacts/companies, built from the team's real emails, LinkedIn messages, calls and meetings.

Automations

Create and manage AUTOMATIONS — scheduled or event-triggered multi-step rules (website/news monitors with Slack digests, follow-up drafts, auto-enrolment into campaigns, CRM saves, AI steps, and rules that listen to or act in the user's connected apps: Google Calendar, Google Sheets, Notion, Typeform, Zendesk, Airtable, Asana, Linear, .

Campaigns

Outreach campaigns and their email/LinkedIn/dialer SEQUENCES, end to end: list/create/update/duplicate/delete campaigns; build, generate, edit, reorder, test and preview sequence steps; ATTACH LISTS to a campaign (this is how you set up reaching a list of people, including system lists like All Website Visitors — attaching to an ALREADY-ACTIVE campaign enrolls its contacts in the background, while a draft campaign enrolls at launch); manage leads (pause/resume, activity); templates; and per-campaign performance metrics + trends.

Deep research start

Starts an asynchronous Fuse Deep Research run: over several minutes it researches the request across the web in the background and produces a markdown report, plus — when the request is to find people or companies — a new Fuse prospect list.

Deep research status

Checks a Fuse Deep Research run started with deep_research_start.

Inbox

Use for anything in the user's inbox / messaging: reading, sending, flagging (read/archive/spam/delete), and tagging emails; AI-drafting email or LinkedIn replies; approving/declining/skipping pending auto-replies; and LinkedIn messaging (chats, messages, connections, invitations).

Integrations

CRM & integrations: connection status, CRM Fields/sync settings, owner mapping, pulling/pushing contacts & companies to the connected CRM (HubSpot/Salesforce/Zoho/Pipedrive/Attio), custom contact properties, and Slack notifications.

Power dialer

Power Dialer — call history (READ-ONLY).

Prospect lists

Manage the user's prospect lists: list lists (including the system/auto lists — All Website Visitors, All Saved Contacts, All Leads, All Enriched Contacts), view/search a list's rows, create/append/clean lists, smart columns, and resolve a list's real id.

Prospect search

Find people and companies, generate prospect/company search filters from a natural-language description, enrich contacts, and save prospects to lists.

Research

EXTERNAL / internet research and web tasks: search & scrape the web (Firecrawl), Google Maps & Google Jobs lookups, building a prospect list from the web (EXA websets), internal knowledge-hub semantic search, and FuseAI how-to / navigation help.

Settings

Account & workspace settings: company profile (name/website), enrichment preferences, team members & invitations, Knowledge Hub profiles, writing styles, ICPs (Ideal Customer Profiles), campaign visibility, a thin lifecycle view of existing Rules Engine automations (list/pause/resume/delete only — it does NOT create or edit automations), Deep Research provider keys (BYOK), and MANAGING the connected sending accounts — email accounts (settings/sharing/disconnect/SMTP connect/warmup start-pause), LinkedIn accounts, dialer phone numbers, and purchased sending domains & mailboxes.

Smart actions

The Smart Actions feed — the home list of suggested next actions per contact, aggregated from website visits, signal-monitor matches, campaign replies, and ICP matches.

Website intent

Use for Website Intent READ-ONLY reports + tracking config: who (companies/people/industries) is visiting the website, visitor analytics/trends, and the tracking setup (allowed domains, tag script, de-anonymization credits).

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

With a standalone FuseAI MCP server, the agents and LLMs can only access a fixed set of FuseAI tools tied to that server. However, with the Composio Tool Router, agents can dynamically load tools from FuseAI and many other apps based on the task at hand, all through a single MCP endpoint.

Yes, you can. Hermes fully supports MCP integration. You get structured tool calling, message history handling, and model orchestration while Tool Router takes care of discovering and serving the right FuseAI tools.

Yes, absolutely. You can configure which FuseAI scopes and actions are allowed when connecting your account to Composio. You can also bring your own OAuth credentials or API configuration so you keep full control over what the agent can do.

All sensitive data such as tokens, keys, and configuration is fully encrypted at rest and in transit. Composio is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant and follows strict security practices so your FuseAI data and credentials are handled as safely as possible.
