What it does

CrewAI is an open-source Python framework for coordinating agents with defined roles and tasks. Crews handle agent collaboration, while Flows provide event-driven control over the wider workflow. Composio's CrewAI provider turns connected-app tools into CrewAI-compatible tools that can be assigned to an agent. The documented examples include sending an email through Gmail and taking an action on GitHub.

What Composio powers

Composio gives CrewAI agents authenticated tools for apps such as Gmail and GitHub, so a crew can take action in the user's connected accounts.

  1. Create a Composio session for the user and connect the account the task needs.
  2. Give the session's tools to a CrewAI agent with a defined role and task.
  3. Run the crew; the agent calls the connected tools and returns the task result.
