## Introduction

Atomic Agent is an open-source AI agent that runs on your machine and supports local models through llama.cpp. Connect it to 1,500+ apps through Composio, including Zoho Campaigns.
This guide uses Atomic Agent's built-in Composio integration. You need Atomic Agent v0.5.6 or later, your own Composio API key, and a Zoho Campaigns account. See the [Atomic Agent documentation](https://atomicagent.io/docs/?cta_placement=atomic-agent-docs) for installation instructions.

## Also integrate Zoho Campaigns with

- [ChatGPT](https://composio.dev/toolkits/zoho_campaigns/framework/chatgpt)
- [Claude Cowork](https://composio.dev/toolkits/zoho_campaigns/framework/claude-cowork)
- [Hermes](https://composio.dev/toolkits/zoho_campaigns/framework/hermes-agent)

## TL;DR

### How Atomic Agent connects to Zoho Campaigns
Atomic Agent connects to Composio's Tool Router over Streamable HTTP MCP. It discovers the tools needed for your request, and Composio handles account authentication.
Execution and account-connection tools follow Atomic Agent's configured approval policy. Review any approval prompt before allowing an action on your connected account.

## Connect Zoho Campaigns to Atomic Agent

### Connect Zoho Campaigns to Atomic Agent
- Sign up or sign in to the [Composio dashboard](https://dashboard.composio.dev/?cta_placement=atomic-agent-api-key). Copy your API key.
- In Atomic Agent, open the Integrations tab and select Composio. Select API key, press e, paste the key, and press Enter. The tools become available immediately, without a restart.
- Ask Atomic Agent to do something in Zoho Campaigns. It searches Composio for the right tool.
- On first use, open the sign-in link returned in the chat. Connect your Zoho Campaigns account, then return to Atomic Agent to continue.
### Headless setup
Add the following line to ~/.atomic-agent/.env, replacing YOUR_COMPOSIO_API_KEY with your key. Start Atomic Agent after saving the file.

```bash
COMPOSIO_API_KEY=YOUR_COMPOSIO_API_KEY
```

## What is the Zoho Campaigns MCP server, and what's possible with it?

The Zoho Campaigns MCP server is an implementation of the Model Context Protocol that connects your AI agent and assistants like Claude, Cursor, etc directly to your Zoho Campaigns account. It provides structured and secure access to mailing lists, contacts, email campaigns, reports, topics, tags, custom fields, segments, coupons, and workflows, so your agent can manage subscribers, create and send campaigns, review performance, and organize audience data on your behalf.
- Mailing list and contact management: Have your agent create, rename, and remove mailing lists, add contacts, subscribe or unsubscribe people, count subscribers, and move contacts to the Do-Not-Mail registry.
- Campaign creation and delivery: Let the agent create campaign drafts, clone existing campaigns, schedule reviewed campaigns, or send campaigns immediately to their configured audiences.
- Campaign reporting: Direct your agent to review campaign details, delivery and engagement reports, recent campaigns, and recipient lists filtered by delivery or engagement status.
- Audience organization: Instruct your agent to create and manage tags, associate tags with contacts, list segments and their contacts, and review or update available contact fields.
- Topics, coupons, and workflows: Have your agent manage subscription topics, inspect topic products, review coupon details, mark coupons as used, and add contacts to custom workflows.

## Supported Tools

| Tool slug | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_ADD_CONTACTS_TO_MAILING_LIST` | Add Contacts to Mailing List | Add between one and ten email addresses to an existing Zoho Campaigns mailing list in one request. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_ADD_MAILING_LIST_AND_CONTACTS` | Add Mailing List and Contacts | Create a Zoho Campaigns mailing list and optionally add up to ten email addresses in the same call. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_ASSOCIATE_TAG_WITH_CONTACT` | Associate Tag with Contact | Associate an existing Zoho Campaigns contact tag with one contact email address. Zoho performs this state-changing operation through an HTTP GET request, so do not treat it as a safe read. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_CLONE_CAMPAIGN` | Clone Campaign | Clone an existing campaign into a new draft with a new name and subject. This action creates a draft and does not send it. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_COUNT_MAILING_LIST_CONTACTS` | Count Mailing List Contacts | Count contacts in a mailing list for one subscription, bounce, or spam status. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_CREATE_CAMPAIGN` | Create Campaign | Create an email campaign draft for mailing-list or segment recipients. This action creates a draft only and does not send or schedule the campaign. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_CREATE_CONTACT_FIELD` | Create Contact Field | Create a custom contact field in Zoho Campaigns. The documented API does not provide an update or delete operation for custom fields. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_CREATE_TAG` | Create Tag | Create a Zoho Campaigns contact tag with a description and color. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_CREATE_TOPIC` | Create Topic | Create a brand topic or brand-product topic. Zoho Campaigns documents no API endpoint for deleting a topic, so this action may leave durable account state. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_DELETE_CAMPAIGN` | Delete Campaign | Permanently delete one Zoho Campaigns campaign by exact campaign key. This destructive operation cannot be undone. Verify the campaign and obtain explicit confirmation before calling it. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_DELETE_MAILING_LIST` | Delete Mailing List | Permanently delete a mailing list. Contacts remain in the organization by default; setting delete_contacts to true also permanently deletes them and is more destructive, so that mode requires confirm_delete_contacts=true. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_DELETE_TAG` | Delete Tag | Permanently delete one Zoho Campaigns contact tag by exact name. Zoho performs this destructive operation through an HTTP GET request, so do not treat it as a safe read. Verify the tag and obtain explicit confirmation before calling it. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_DISSOCIATE_TAG_FROM_CONTACT` | Dissociate Tag from Contact | Remove an existing Zoho Campaigns contact-tag association without deleting the tag or contact. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_GET_CAMPAIGN_DETAILS` | Get Campaign Details | Get a campaign's status, sender, recipients, reach, and summary report data. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_GET_CAMPAIGN_REPORT` | Get Campaign Report | Get aggregate delivery, open, click, bounce, and reach metrics for one campaign. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_GET_COUPON_DETAILS` | Get Coupon Details | Get a coupon's code, recipient, campaign, sent and expiry dates, and current status. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_GET_LAST_CAMPAIGN_REPORT` | Get Last Campaign Report | Get aggregate delivery, open, click, bounce, and reach metrics for the organization's most recently sent campaign. Fails clearly when the account has no sent campaigns. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_GET_MAILING_LIST_DETAILS` | Get Mailing List Details | Get a mailing list's contact statistics, client and device breakdowns, and optionally filtered campaign details one page at a time. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_GET_SEGMENT_DETAILS` | Get Segment Details | Get the filtering criteria and metadata for a segment in a mailing list. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_CAMPAIGN_RECIPIENTS` | List Campaign Recipients | List recipients in one campaign delivery or engagement state, one page at a time. Pagination is provisional because no sent campaign was available to verify successful page output. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_CONTACT_FIELDS` | List Contact Fields | List standard and custom contact fields available to the connected Campaigns organization. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_MAILING_LIST_CONTACTS` | List Mailing List Contacts | List contacts in a mailing list, optionally filtered by subscription or bounce status, one page at a time. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_MAILING_LISTS` | List Mailing Lists | List mailing lists and their contact, ownership, segment, and status metadata one page at a time. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_OPEN_WORKFLOWS` | List Open Workflows | List open custom workflows one page at a time. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_RECENT_CAMPAIGNS` | List Recent Campaigns | List recent campaigns filtered by lifecycle status, one page at a time. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_RECENTLY_SENT_CAMPAIGNS` | List Recently Sent Campaigns | Return up to a requested number of the most recently sent campaigns; an account with no sent campaigns returns an empty list. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_SEGMENT_CONTACTS` | List Segment Contacts | List contacts belonging to a Zoho Campaigns segment one page at a time. Pagination is provisional because no live segment fixture was available during probing. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_TAGS` | List Tags | List all Zoho Campaigns contact tags and their metadata. Zoho requires contact UPDATE permission even though this action only reads. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_TOPIC_PRODUCTS` | List Topic Products | List products available for brand-product topics one page at a time. Organizations using the brand topic model receive an explicit incompatibility error because that model has no topic products. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_LIST_TOPICS` | List Topics | List subscription topics for the organization one page at a time. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_MARK_COUPON_USED` | Mark Coupon Used | Irreversibly mark a Zoho Campaigns coupon as used. The documented API provides no action to restore the coupon's prior status, so use this only after the user explicitly confirms the state change. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_MOVE_CONTACT_TO_DO_NOT_MAIL` | Move Contact to Do-Not-Mail | Permanently suppress one email address across the connected Zoho Campaigns organization by moving it to the Do-Not-Mail registry. This is broader than unsubscribing from one mailing list, cannot be reversed through the documented API, and was not live-tested because even a test call creates durable suppression. Requires confirm_permanent_suppression=true after the user explicitly confirms this consequence. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_SCHEDULE_CAMPAIGN` | Schedule Campaign | Schedule a reviewed campaign for future delivery. This commits the campaign to sending, and this toolkit has no cancellation action; call only after the user confirms the campaign, date, time, and time zone. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_SEND_CAMPAIGN` | Send Campaign | Immediately and irreversibly send a reviewed Zoho Campaigns campaign to its entire configured audience. This is not a preview, test, draft, or scheduling operation. Delivery cannot be canceled or undone after the call, so use only after the user explicitly confirms the campaign and audience are final. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_SUBSCRIBE_CONTACT` | Subscribe Contact | Add or update one contact in a mailing list. Depending on the mailing-list settings, Zoho Campaigns may send the contact a confirmation email. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_TRIGGER_WORKFLOW_CONTACTS` | Trigger Workflow Contacts | Add between one and 200 contacts to a Zoho Campaigns custom workflow. Triggering contacts can run the workflow's downstream automations, so this action requires confirm_trigger=true after the user confirms that effect. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_UNSUBSCRIBE_CONTACT` | Unsubscribe Contact | Unsubscribe one contact from a mailing list or topic. This is a reversible, list-level opt-out and does not add the address to the organization-wide Do-Not-Mail registry. |
| `ZOHO_CAMPAIGNS_UPDATE_MAILING_LIST` | Update Mailing List | Rename a mailing list and set its signup form visibility. |

## Troubleshooting

### Why is my API key rejected?

Copy the key directly from the Composio dashboard. Atomic Agent requires ASCII characters because it sends the key in an HTTP header. Remove any extra characters introduced when copying.

### Why are Composio tools unavailable after saving a key?

Check that you use Atomic Agent v0.5.6 or later and that Composio is enabled in your configuration. A "composio": { "enabled": false } setting disables the integration while keeping the saved key on disk.

### Does Composio have a free plan?

The Hobby plan includes 100,000 tool calls per month. Composio-managed OAuth apps have a lower included allowance. See [Composio pricing](/pricing) for the current limits that apply to your connection.

## Complete Code

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What are the differences in Tool Router MCP and Zoho Campaigns MCP?

With a standalone Zoho Campaigns MCP server, the agents and LLMs can only access a fixed set of Zoho Campaigns tools tied to that server. However, with the Composio Tool Router, agents can dynamically load tools from Zoho Campaigns and many other apps based on the task at hand, all through a single MCP endpoint.

### Can I use Tool Router MCP with Atomic Agent?

Yes, you can. Atomic Agent fully supports MCP integration. You get structured tool calling, message history handling, and model orchestration while Tool Router takes care of discovering and serving the right Zoho Campaigns tools.

### Can I manage the permissions and scopes for Zoho Campaigns while using Tool Router?

Yes, absolutely. You can configure which Zoho Campaigns scopes and actions are allowed when connecting your account to Composio. You can also bring your own OAuth credentials or API configuration so you keep full control over what the agent can do.

### How safe is my data with Composio Tool Router?

All sensitive data such as tokens, keys, and configuration is fully encrypted at rest and in transit. Composio is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant and follows strict security practices so your Zoho Campaigns data and credentials are handled as safely as possible.
