## Introduction

Atomic Agent is an open-source AI agent that runs on your machine and supports local models through llama.cpp. Connect it to 1,500+ apps through Composio, including Zoho Calendar.
This guide uses Atomic Agent's built-in Composio integration. You need Atomic Agent v0.5.6 or later, your own Composio API key, and a Zoho Calendar account. See the [Atomic Agent documentation](https://atomicagent.io/docs/?cta_placement=atomic-agent-docs) for installation instructions.

## Also integrate Zoho Calendar with

- [ChatGPT](https://composio.dev/toolkits/zoho_calendar/framework/chatgpt)
- [Claude Cowork](https://composio.dev/toolkits/zoho_calendar/framework/claude-cowork)
- [Hermes](https://composio.dev/toolkits/zoho_calendar/framework/hermes-agent)

## TL;DR

### How Atomic Agent connects to Zoho Calendar
Atomic Agent connects to Composio's Tool Router over Streamable HTTP MCP. It discovers the tools needed for your request, and Composio handles account authentication.
Execution and account-connection tools follow Atomic Agent's configured approval policy. Review any approval prompt before allowing an action on your connected account.

## Connect Zoho Calendar to Atomic Agent

### Connect Zoho Calendar to Atomic Agent
- Sign up or sign in to the [Composio dashboard](https://dashboard.composio.dev/?cta_placement=atomic-agent-api-key). Copy your API key.
- In Atomic Agent, open the Integrations tab and select Composio. Select API key, press e, paste the key, and press Enter. The tools become available immediately, without a restart.
- Ask Atomic Agent to do something in Zoho Calendar. It searches Composio for the right tool.
- On first use, open the sign-in link returned in the chat. Connect your Zoho Calendar account, then return to Atomic Agent to continue.
### Headless setup
Add the following line to ~/.atomic-agent/.env, replacing YOUR_COMPOSIO_API_KEY with your key. Start Atomic Agent after saving the file.

```bash
COMPOSIO_API_KEY=YOUR_COMPOSIO_API_KEY
```

## What is the Zoho Calendar MCP server, and what's possible with it?

The Zoho Calendar MCP server is an implementation of the Model Context Protocol that connects your AI agent and assistants like Claude, Cursor, etc directly to your Zoho Calendar account. It provides structured and secure access to your calendars, events, availability, settings, and resource bookings, so your agent can schedule events, find free time, manage calendars, and book rooms on your behalf.
- Event and calendar management: Have your agent create timed, all-day, or recurring events, retrieve event details, list events for a date range, and delete events or selected recurrences.
- Calendar organization: Let the agent create, view, list, and delete personal calendars, check calendar settings, and review sharing entries for a calendar.
- Availability planning: Direct your agent to check a user's free and busy times, inspect room availability, and list recurring event instances within a date range.
- Room booking: Instruct your agent to find available rooms, create bookings with attendees and recurrence options, view or delete bookings, and list your upcoming room reservations.
- Resource administration: Have your agent manage resource booking branches, rooms, features, favorite resources, and organization or user booking settings.

## Supported Tools

| Tool slug | Name | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_CHECK_RESOURCE_BOOKING_ACCESS` | Check Resource Booking Access | Check whether Resource Booking is enabled for the connected Zoho account. Resource Booking requires a paid Zoho plan; use this as an entitlement preflight, not as a general credential test. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_CREATE_BOOKING` | Create Resource Booking | Book one or more available rooms in paid Zoho Resource Booking, optionally with attendees, groups, notifications, or a daily, weekly, or monthly recurrence. Notification modes 1 and 2 immediately send attendee notifications that cannot be recalled. The booking must stay within administrator-configured limits. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_CREATE_BRANCH` | Create Resource Booking Branch | Create a branch with buildings and floors in paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected user must have Resource Booking administration permission. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_CREATE_CALENDAR` | Create Calendar | Create a personal calendar with a required name and color. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_CREATE_EVENT` | Create Event | Create a timed, all-day, or recurring Zoho Calendar event without creating Zoho Meeting conferencing. Notification modes 1 and 2 immediately send attendee or attendee-and-organizer notifications that cannot be recalled. To attach a file, first call UPLOAD_EVENT_ATTACHMENT, then pass its returned ID in event_data.attach.file_ids. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_CREATE_RESOURCE` | Create Resource Booking Room | Create a room in paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected user must have Resource Booking administration permission. Room image upload is not exposed because Zoho does not document the photo transport encoding; its paired image file name is therefore not settable either. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_CREATE_RESOURCE_BOOKING_ORG_SETTINGS` | Create Resource Booking Organization Settings | Initialize organization-wide limits in paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected user must be an organization administrator. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_CREATE_RESOURCE_BOOKING_USER_SETTINGS` | Create Resource Booking User Settings | Initialize user preferences in paid Zoho Resource Booking. By default this targets the connected user; supplying another user's user_id requires organization administrator access. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_CREATE_RESOURCE_FEATURE` | Create Resource Feature | Create a feature definition in paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected user must have Resource Booking administration permission. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_DELETE_BOOKING` | Delete Resource Booking | Permanently delete one room booking, all or future recurrence occurrences, or one selected occurrence. This destructive action requires a paid Zoho plan with Resource Booking enabled and can optionally notify attendees. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_DELETE_BRANCH` | Delete Resource Booking Branch | Permanently delete a branch from paid Zoho Resource Booking. This destructive operation requires Resource Booking administration permission. Zoho rejects the deletion with BRANCH_TAG_WITH_ROOMS while rooms remain attached; remove or move those rooms before retrying. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_DELETE_CALENDAR` | Delete Calendar | Permanently delete a calendar and return Zoho's deletion envelope. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_DELETE_EVENT` | Delete Event | Delete an event, all following recurrences, or one recurrence instance using the latest ETag. Optional notification modes 1 and 2 immediately send deletion or cancellation notifications that cannot be recalled. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_DELETE_EVENT_ATTACHMENTS` | Delete Event Attachments | Remove specified attachments from an event using its full date/time data and latest ETag; the event itself remains. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_DELETE_RESOURCE` | Delete Resource | Permanently delete a room resource from paid Zoho Resource Booking. This destructive, admin-only operation also permanently deletes every booking associated with the resource. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_DELETE_RESOURCE_FEATURE` | Delete Resource Feature | Permanently delete a feature from paid Zoho Resource Booking. This destructive operation requires Resource Booking administration permission. Zoho rejects the deletion with FEATURE_TAG_WITH_ROOMS while any room uses the feature; remove the feature from those rooms before retrying. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_DOWNLOAD_EVENT_ATTACHMENT` | Download Event Attachment | Download one event attachment. Zoho may redirect view mode before returning the file, and PNG files download in either mode. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_DOWNLOAD_RESOURCE_IMAGE` | Download Resource Image | Download one resource image by its opaque image ID, exact provider file name, and owning resource ID. Requires a paid Zoho Resource Booking plan. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_FAVORITE_RESOURCE` | Favorite Resource | Mark one room as a favorite for the connected user. This action requires a paid Zoho plan with Resource Booking enabled. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_BOOKING` | Get Resource Booking | Return one room booking or a specified recurrence occurrence from paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected account must have Resource Booking enabled. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_BRANCH` | Get Resource Booking Branch | Return one Resource Booking branch with its buildings and floors. This endpoint requires a paid Zoho plan with Resource Booking enabled. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_CALENDAR` | Get Calendar | Return full details for one calendar UID, including the documented default or primary aliases. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_CALENDAR_SETTINGS` | Get Calendar Settings | Return the connected user's Calendar preferences. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_EVENT` | Get Event | Return full details for one event or a specified recurrence instance. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_RESOURCE` | Get Resource Booking Resource | Return one room from paid Zoho Resource Booking. Resource Booking must be enabled for the connected account. include_current_time strictly selects Zoho's bare resource or resource/current_time response variant. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_RESOURCE_BOOKING_ORG_SETTINGS` | Get Resource Booking Organization Settings | Return organization-wide policy settings from paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected account must have Resource Booking enabled and organization administrator access. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_RESOURCE_BOOKING_USER_SETTINGS` | Get Resource Booking User Settings | Return user preferences from paid Zoho Resource Booking. Omit user_id for the connected user's settings; querying another user requires organization administrator access. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_RESOURCE_FEATURE` | Get Resource Feature | Return one feature definition from paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected account must have Resource Booking enabled. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_RESOURCE_FREE_BUSY` | Get Resource Free Busy | Return strict date-keyed busy intervals for one room resource over an exact inclusive date range. This unpaginated endpoint requires a paid Zoho plan with Resource Booking enabled, and the range cannot exceed the booking duration configured by an administrator. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_GET_USER_FREE_BUSY` | Get User Free Busy | Return event-based or time-based free/busy data for one email and exact local-naive time range. This endpoint is not paginated. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_BOOKINGS` | List Resource Bookings | Return bookings for selected rooms in a paid Zoho Resource Booking branch. This endpoint is not paginated and requires an inclusive MM/DD/YYYY start and end date, matching Zoho's official request example. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_BRANCHES` | List Resource Booking Branches | Return all branches from paid Zoho Resource Booking, including their buildings and floors. Resource Booking must be enabled for the connected account. Zoho documents this endpoint as an unpaginated bare list. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_CALENDARS` | List Calendars | Return calendars visible to the connected user, optionally by documented category and hidden status. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_CALENDAR_SHARES` | List Calendar Shares | Return user and group sharing entries for one calendar. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_EVENT_INSTANCES` | List Event Instances | Return recurrence instances for one repeating event in a required range of at most 90 days. This endpoint is not paginated. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_EVENTS` | List Events | Return events in one calendar for a required range of at most 31 days. This endpoint is not paginated. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_FAVORITE_RESOURCES` | List Favorite Resources | Return the connected user's favorite room resources from paid Zoho Resource Booking. Zoho returns the complete, unpaginated Resource array as a JSON-encoded string, which this action preserves exactly. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_GROUP_ATTENDEE_STATUSES` | Get Group Attendee Statuses | Return member RSVP statuses for one group attendee on an event. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_MY_BOOKINGS` | List My Resource Bookings | Return the connected user's room bookings for an exact date range. This unpaginated action requires a paid Zoho plan with Resource Booking enabled and preserves Zoho's JSON-encoded resources and bookings strings exactly. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_RESOURCE_AVAILABILITY` | List Resource Availability | Return room resources and availability for a branch, optional building or floor, and an exact date/time range. This unpaginated endpoint requires a paid Zoho plan with Resource Booking enabled, and the date span cannot exceed the administrator-configured booking duration. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_RESOURCE_BOOKING_USER_SETTINGS` | List Resource Booking User Settings | List user settings for at least one branch, building, or floor in paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected account must have organization administrator access. Zoho documents this endpoint as unpaginated. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_RESOURCE_FEATURES` | List Resource Features | Return all feature definitions from paid Zoho Resource Booking. Resource Booking must be enabled for the connected account. Zoho documents this endpoint as an unpaginated bare list. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_LIST_RESOURCES` | List Resources | Return room resources for at least one branch, building, or floor. This endpoint requires a paid Zoho plan with Resource Booking enabled and is not paginated. Set include_current_time to select Zoho's resources/current_time response wrapper; otherwise the response is a bare resource array. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_MOVE_EVENT` | Move Event | Move an event between personal or group calendars, optionally changing documented event details; shared and app calendars are unsupported and recurrence changes affect all occurrences. Notification modes 1 and 2 immediately send attendee or attendee-and-organizer notifications that cannot be recalled. To attach a file while moving, first call UPLOAD_EVENT_ATTACHMENT, then pass its returned ID in event_data.attach.file_ids. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_REPLACE_EVENT` | Replace Event | Replace an event using complete date/time data and its latest ETag, without adding Zoho Meeting conferencing. Supplying event_data.attach.remove_attachment_ids permanently removes those attachments; DELETE_EVENT_ATTACHMENTS remains available for dedicated removal. Notification modes 1 and 2 immediately send attendee or attendee-and-organizer notifications that cannot be recalled. To add attachments, first call UPLOAD_EVENT_ATTACHMENT, then pass its returned IDs in event_data.attach.file_ids. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UNFAVORITE_RESOURCE` | Unfavorite Resource | Remove one room from the connected user's favorites. This requires a paid Zoho plan with Resource Booking enabled. It only removes the favorite marker; it does not delete the resource or its bookings. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_BOOKING` | Update Resource Booking | Update a room booking or selected recurrence occurrences in paid Zoho Resource Booking. Every update must include title, date/time, and resources. Attendee and group arrays apply participant changes rather than replacing the complete lists: omitted participants remain, and deleted=true removes one. Notification modes 1 and 2 immediately send attendee notifications that cannot be recalled. Room availability and administrator-configured booking range limits apply. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_BRANCH` | Update Resource Booking Branch | Update a branch or add or remove its buildings and floors in paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected user must have Resource Booking administration permission. Removing a building or floor is permanent and can fail while the target is occupied or otherwise in use. Because this endpoint supports permanent removal, ordinary branch edits are also gated as irreversible. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_CALENDAR` | Update Calendar | Update one or more documented properties of an existing calendar. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_CALENDAR_SETTINGS` | Update Calendar Settings | Update a non-empty set of the connected user's documented Calendar preferences. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_CALENDAR_SHARE` | Update Calendar Share | Supports add, edit, and revoke modes for one user or group calendar share; operation='delete' revokes access, so every call is pessimistically gated as destructive. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_EVENT` | Update Event | Partially update event fields or attendee data using exactly one documented payload. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_RESOURCE` | Update Resource | Update a room, its feature assignments, or its visibility in paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected user must have Resource Booking administration permission. Room image upload is not exposed because Zoho does not document the photo transport encoding; its paired image file name is therefore not settable either. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_RESOURCE_BOOKING_ORG_SETTINGS` | Update Resource Booking Organization Settings | Update organization-wide booking limits in paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected user must be a Zoho organization administrator. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_RESOURCE_BOOKING_USER_SETTINGS` | Update Resource Booking User Settings | Update user preferences in paid Zoho Resource Booking. By default this targets the connected user; supplying another user's user_id requires organization administrator access. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPDATE_RESOURCE_FEATURE` | Update Resource Feature | Rename or hide a feature in paid Zoho Resource Booking. The connected user must have Resource Booking administration permission, and the feature type cannot be changed. |
| `ZOHO_CALENDAR_UPLOAD_EVENT_ATTACHMENT` | Upload Event Attachment | Upload one file of at most 10,240 kB. This only uploads the file: next pass the returned fileId as file_ids in the attach object of CREATE_EVENT, UPDATE_EVENT, REPLACE_EVENT, or MOVE_EVENT to associate it with an event. |

## Troubleshooting

### Why is my API key rejected?

Copy the key directly from the Composio dashboard. Atomic Agent requires ASCII characters because it sends the key in an HTTP header. Remove any extra characters introduced when copying.

### Why are Composio tools unavailable after saving a key?

Check that you use Atomic Agent v0.5.6 or later and that Composio is enabled in your configuration. A "composio": { "enabled": false } setting disables the integration while keeping the saved key on disk.

### Does Composio have a free plan?

The Hobby plan includes 100,000 tool calls per month. Composio-managed OAuth apps have a lower included allowance. See [Composio pricing](/pricing) for the current limits that apply to your connection.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What are the differences in Tool Router MCP and Zoho Calendar MCP?

With a standalone Zoho Calendar MCP server, the agents and LLMs can only access a fixed set of Zoho Calendar tools tied to that server. However, with the Composio Tool Router, agents can dynamically load tools from Zoho Calendar and many other apps based on the task at hand, all through a single MCP endpoint.

### Can I use Tool Router MCP with Atomic Agent?

Yes, you can. Atomic Agent fully supports MCP integration. You get structured tool calling, message history handling, and model orchestration while Tool Router takes care of discovering and serving the right Zoho Calendar tools.

### Can I manage the permissions and scopes for Zoho Calendar while using Tool Router?

Yes, absolutely. You can configure which Zoho Calendar scopes and actions are allowed when connecting your account to Composio. You can also bring your own OAuth credentials or API configuration so you keep full control over what the agent can do.

### How safe is my data with Composio Tool Router?

All sensitive data such as tokens, keys, and configuration is fully encrypted at rest and in transit. Composio is SOC 2 Type 2 compliant and follows strict security practices so your Zoho Calendar data and credentials are handled as safely as possible.
